FC Bayern and Harry Kane have reached a verbal agreement in principle on a new long-term contract running through June 2029, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, citing Sky reporter Michael Bridge. Both the contract term and the financial terms have reportedly been negotiated.
The contract documents are now with the lawyers, who are reviewing the deal and are expected to approve it for signing. Although the specific new annual salary has not been publicly disclosed, an agreement on compensation is reportedly in place.
Kane Set to Stay Until 2029
The 33-year-old’s current contract runs through the summer of 2027. The new deal would tie Harry Kane to FC Bayern for two more years, confirming reports earlier in the week that the club and the striker had agreed on an extension through 2029.
Bayern officials have repeatedly stressed in recent months that they are planning for the long term with their star striker. Kane has also signalled on several occasions that he feels at home in Munich and is open to staying longer.
Final Formalities Remain
Most recently, sporting director Max Eberl said talks were going well but had not yet been finalised, adding that some details still needed to be worked out. Those details now appear to have been resolved, leaving only the legal review before the signing can take place.
The development settles one of the most significant questions over the future of the Bayern squad. Kane wants to stay, and both sides have apparently agreed on the contract length and salary.
